Former assistant to Somerville Chief of Police
NORTH READING — Mary A. (Guaraldi) Celli of North Reading formerly of Somerville, passed away Feb. 20. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Celli. Mary was the mother of John J. Celli and his wife Tracey of North Reading and Linda Rennell of Woburn. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Salvi) Guaraldi. Mary was the grandmother of five, step–grandmother of four and great–great–grandmother of fourteen. She was also the sister of Lorraine Gallant of Woburn.
Her funeral was held from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28) North Readiing, at Reading line, on Wednesday, Feb. 25 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St. (Rte 62). Interment was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Mary volunteered at the Somerville Hospital, was an active helper at bingo at St. Anthony Church and worked many years as the assistant to the Chief of the Somerville Police Dept. Mary was a dear friend to many people including everyone at Cota Funeral Home, she will be missed by us all.
