Mary-Miano-obit-webSALEM — Mary A. (Paone) Miano, of Salem, formerly of Melrose, died at home on Feb. 11 at the age of 94.

Mary was born in Chelsea, raised in East Boston and graduated from the Fitton School in East Boston. She resided in East Boston until 1967 and lived for 38 years in Melrose and the past 10 years in Salem. Mary was a homemaker and member of both St. Mary and Incarnation churches in Melrose for many years. She was affiliated with many veterans groups and often traveled with the veterans tour groups. Mary was easy going and made friends with everyone she would meet and enjoyed traveling to Punta Gorda, Fla., Italy and California. She was a very giving person and supportive grandmother and loved to go to all of her family’s sporting events.

Mary was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Frank A. Miano. She was the loving mother of Ronald A. Miano and his wife Karen of Salem; and the late Robert A. Miano and his wife Anna of Tewksbury. She was the cherished grandmother of Rome, Josh, Jake and Stephen. She was the great-grandmother of Anthony, Vince, Maksim, Norah and Killian. She was the caring sister of Grace (Paone) Delli-Priscoli of Ipswich and the late Paul and Tony Paone. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 17, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose. Burial took place in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
