Mary-Sohegian-obit-6-30-17-webWAKEFIELD — Mary E. (Harris) Sohegian, 82, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at the Life Care Center of North Shore on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

Mary was born in Haverhill on May 12, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary E. (Verburgt) Harris. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, and resided in Wakefield much of her life.

Mary had simple needs in life. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an animal lover and in her younger years, loved to play tennis. Mary also enjoyed bowling, and was an avid square dancer with her late husband Tom. Always conscientious, Mary led a responsible, independent life. She enjoyed talking on the phone to family and friends, and was always very appreciate of her kind, supportive neighbors.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Thomas S. Sohegian. She also leaves behind family, Thomas, Christine, and Michelle Sohegian of Peabody. She was the dear lifelong friend of Janice Joyce and her late husband Fred of Saugus.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor of Mary’s life for her Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, June 29.
