Saulnier-obit-webMELROSE — Mary Elizabeth “Liz” (Bourque) Saulnier, 99, passed away at the Fitch Home in Melrose on April 20.
Liz was born in Reading on May, 30, 1917, she was raised in Nova Scotia, lived in Chelsea for over 60 years and the last 3 years in Melrose.
Mrs. Saulnier worked for many years at the General Electric Plant in Lynn. Liz was very active at St. Rose Church and the senior activities in Chelsea prior to moving to Melrose.
She loved to crochet, was very good at Scrabble, enjoyed board games, playing cards and cribbage.
Liz was the beloved wife of the late Norman Saulnier. She was the loving sister of Marie Celeste Lynch of Melrose and the late Nelson and Ulysses Bourque. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Monday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose at 10:30 a.m.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
