MELROSE — Mary Margaret (Brennan) Lawlor passed away at her home in Melrose on Sunday, May 10, 2015. She was 83 years of age. Mary was born in Somerville on May 6, 1932 to the late Thomas and Kathryn (Thistle) Brennan. She was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and lived in Somerville most of her life until moving to Melrose 10 years ago.

Mrs. Lawlor was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. Mary was a longtime member of St. Polycarp Church in Somerville and a current member of St. Mary Church in Melrose. Mrs. Lawlor enjoyed her trips to Ireland and Aruba but always loved coming home. She cherished the times spent at home with her family. Mary was the beloved wife of Richard M. Lawlor. She was the loving mother of Michael R. Lawlor and his wife Mary of North Reading, James P. Lawlor of Charlestown and Mary C. Craig and her husband Richard of Milton. She was the devoted sister of Catherine Tighe of Arlington and the late Billy, Jim and John Brennan. She was the cherished grandmother of James, Megan, Elizabeth and Charlie and the proud great–grandmother of Vinny. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Her funeral was held  from the Gately Funeral Home in Melrose, on Wednesday, May 13, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose.
