Resident of town for over 60 years

Mary-Rollins-Obit-webNORTH READING — Mary E. (Harris) Rollins, 89, of North Reading and formerly of Malden, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at the Peregrine’s Landing in Tewksbury. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin H. Rollins Jr.

Born in Marblehead on April 19,1926, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Catherine A. (Sheehan) Harris. She was raised and attended school in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1944. Mary worked for Acme Printing Company in Malden for over 30 years.

Mary has been a resident of North Reading for over 60 years. She was an active member of the Edith A. O’Leary Senior Center for many years and was a member of St. Theresa Church. She loved music and singing and was a member of the North Reading Senior Echoes. Mary always enjoyed all the traveling she did with her late husband Ed.

Family members include her loving brother, Richard Harris and his wife Deborah of Brentwood, N.H. and her sister, Barbara Frazier of Clovis, Calif. She was the sister of the late John, Robert and Charles Harris. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her niece, Jill Ducharme and her husband Sean and great niece, Mackenzie of Brentwood, N.H. and her nephew, Glenn Harris and his wife Elizabeth (Crowley) and great nephew, Owen of Salem, N.H.

Her funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Thursday, Oct. 8. Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62), North Reading.
