WALTHAM—Two Melrose football players have been selected to play in the 2019 Shriner’s All-Star Football Classic that will be held on June 21, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Bentley University in Waltham.

Cory Bright, a Bishop Fenwick senior, and Dylan Robertson, a Melrose High School senior, will both represent their schools. Over the weekend they were on hand for an introduction with players and officials and to learn more about the game in June.

DYLAN ROBERTSON (#5) and Cory Bright (#76) will compete at the 2019 Shriner’s Football Classic in  June.

Each year the MHSFCA in connection with the Aleppo Shriners of Massachusetts, co-sponsor an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star Football Game. For the past 35 years, graduating high school seniors from the North and South area high schools have played the Shriners All-Star Football Classic.

All proceeds from the game are donated to the Shriners Hospital in Boston. The association is proud to have donated over one million dollars to this worthy charity.

In order to participate in the game, a player must be nominated by his high school coach.

The coaching staffs are selected at the December meeting of the MHSFCA Executive Board. Only head coaches are able to coach in the game and can only coach in it once every three years. The players from each squad are then selected by the coaching staffs in January. Players are asked to help raise money for the game and have 10 days to prepare for the game in June.
