MELROSE — The Department of Public Works announces the following schedule for the upcoming holiday weeks.  

Week of Monday, December 24

1. All Public Works Offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday including the DPW Operations, Engineering, Water & Sewer Billing and Cemetery Offices.

2. Monday trash and recycling collection will be on schedule; Tuesday through Friday collection will be one day delayed. Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday will be collected on Thursday; Thursday will be collected on Friday; Friday will be collected on Saturday.

3. The DPW Recycling Facility will be open on Monday, December 24 until 11:45 a.m. for drop off of recycling items, yard waste, etc. We will then be open from Wednesday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. The DPW Facility will be closed on Saturday, December 29.

5. Outside of any unforeseen emergencies, all construction activities will be shut down for this week.  

Week of Monday, December 31

1. All Public Works Offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday including the DPW Operations, Engineering, Water & Sewer Billing and Cemetery Offices.

2. Monday trash and recycling collection will be on schedule; Tuesday through Friday collection will be one day delayed. Tuesday will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday will be collected on Thursday; Thursday will be collected on Friday; Friday will be collected on Saturday.

3. The DPW Recycling Facility will be open on Monday, December 31 until 11:45 a.m. for drop off of recycling items, yard waste, etc. We will then be open from Wednesday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. The DPW Facility will be open on Saturday, January 5, 2019 until 11:45 a.m. for a Saturday drop off event hosted by the DPW. All items will be accepted including Christmas Trees, cardboard and other recycling items. This is a great opportunity to clean up and purge from your holiday activities.

5. Curbside collection of Christmas Trees will start on Monday, January 7 and take place through Friday, January 18. Trees should be left curbside on your regularly scheduled collection day. The trees should be free of decorations, lights and without plastic bags.

6. Trees can be dropped off at the Melrose DPW Recycling Facility and/or Mt. Hood upper parking lot starting Wednesday, January 2. The DPW Facility is open during the week from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; The Mt. Hood drop off area is accessible at all times.

7. Outside of any unforeseen emergencies, all construction activities will be shut down for this week.
