MELROSE
Follow Your Art Community Studios is hosting an outdoor celebration of color and creativity on October 16 at Ell Pond Gazebo and City Hall.

The concept is simple: Individuals and families can “Adopt a Square” and make their own chalk contribution to a gallery along the Ell Pond path. FYACS staff and volunteers will be on hand with tips and lessons to help contributors up their chalk art game.

Meanwhile, over at City Hall, 10 artists sponsored by local organizations, businesses and families will create an Art Gallery leading up to City Hall from the corner of Essex and Main Streets. Student and professional artists alike will be contributing.

“If we’ve learned one thing at FYACS since March of 2020, it’s that Melrose loves its chalk art!” says Kris Rodolico, FYACS Director. “This fundraising event is a way to bring everyone into the art-making experience and support the community scholarship programs we’ve been steadily building the last 2 years,” concluded Rodolico.

Space at Ell Pond is limited, so registration at www.fyamelrose.org/art-in-community is strongly encouraged. Rain date is Oct. 17.
