MELROSE—Good news, Melrose High fans. All high school winter sports return this season as Melrose High embarks on a 2021-22 full schedule campaign.
While players and spectators will be required to wear masks, all winter teams are full steam ahead with nine varsity teams competing in 2021-22 from December to late Feb/early March.
Competing this winter will be:
*Boy’s basketball (Home: MVMMS gym)
*Girls basketball (Home: MVMMS gym)
*Boys hockey (Home: Stoneham Arena)
*Girls hockey (Home: Flynn Rink)
*Boys Indoor Track (Meets: BU Track Center)
*Girls Indoor Track (Meets: BU Track Center)
*Wrestling (Home: Marcoux Gym, MHS)
*Gymnastics (Home: Saugus YMCA)
*Boys swim (Home: Malden High pool)
Regular season games start as early as Dec. 8 (boys hoop, boys hockey) along with December 10 (boys swim) December 11 (girls hoop) and December 15 (girls hockey, indoor track). Gymnastic meets will start in January.
