MELROSE — Angelina (LaRosa) Guzzo, 94, passed away at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Beverly on January 5, 2019.

Angelina was born in Quincy on November 23, 1924 to the late Joseph and Maria (Fantuchio) LaRosa; she was raised in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. Mrs. Guzzo a dedicated and loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and she always put her family first in her life.

She was also a very hard worker holding numerous jobs throughout her life. Angelina worked at Jordan Marsh in Boston, as a dental assistant, for Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, she ran Ann’s Thrift Shop in Somerville for many years as well as several other jobs over the years. Mrs. Guzzo loved to read, loved music and was an excellent singer. She sang with the Melrose Polymnia Choral Society, but was best known for singing jazz with numerous bands at local nightclubs in the Boston area.

Angelina was the beloved wife of the late Mario Guzzo for 66 years. Devoted mother of Christine J. Guzzo of Wakefield, Joseph Guzzo and Paul Guzzo and his wife Mairead all of Melrose and Michael Guzzo of Wakefield. Proud grandmother of John, Joe, Angela and Kyra and great-grandmother of Jake.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose on Friday, January 11 at 10 a.m. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. There are no visiting hours. To send a message of condolence please visit www.gatelyfh.com
