Had a love for animals and volunteering

MALDEN — Anna M. DeFilippo, resident of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at a Melrose healthcare facility. She was 79.

Born on January 15, 1943 in Malden, Anna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Manna) DeFilippo. She grew up in Everett and graduated from Malden High School.

Anna worked as a Systems Analyst for Digital Equipment Corporation for 30 years. She also worked in IT for Lahey Clinic for five years. Volunteering was very important to Anna, and she volunteered at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose Senior Center, and at 910 Main St. in Melrose. She also had a deep love for animals.

Anna’s friends will miss her friendliness and warmth.

Anna is survived by her cousin Wayne Molle and his wife Christine of Stoneham and their children Samantha McGraw and her husband Ryan of North Reading, Jason Molle of Wakefield, and Christian Molle of San Diego, Calif.; friends Robert F. Dooley and family of Melrose, Nancy Covitz of Acton, Joanne Cohen of Maynard, and Marie Heath of Acton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather during a visiting hour at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Saturday, July 16 from 8 a.m. until leaving in procession to the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St., Melrose, for her funeral Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
