MELROSE — Carmen Grimmo, 76, of Melrose, formerly of Everett, passed away at the MelroseWakefield Hospital from COVID-19 on Jan. 14, 2021.

Carmen was born in Augusta, Sicily, and resided in Everett until 1970 and Melrose for over 50 years.

He worked as a truck driver for Whitehall Company in Norwood for over 30 years before his retirement.

Carmen was a wonderful cook and took great pride in his garden that he planted every summer. He loved being by the ocean as well, but most important, he loved spending time with his family. Carmen was the beloved husband of Valerie (Ciavola) Grimmo. Loving father of Susan R. Grimmo of Randolph and Enzo D. Grimmo of New York. Caring brother of Rosa DeGrande of Sicily, Joseph Grimmo of Revere and the late Vincenzo Grimmo. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Due to the current health crisis, viewing was private for family prior to church services. A funeral Mass was held at St. Mary’s of the Annunciation Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose, on Thursday, Jan. 21. Burial services took place immediately following the Mass at Woodlawn Cemetery, at 302 Elm St., Everett.
