MELROSE — Mary C.T. Duffy, 66, loving and beloved daughter of Mary C. McCutcheon (Duffy) and the late Philip B. McCutcheon, died unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, in St. Cloud, Minn.

Mary leaves her mother Mary of Melrose, her brother James Duffy and his wife Evelyn of Revere, her nephew Michael J. Woods of Charlestown, her aunt Frances Marelli of Wakefield, many cousins and her two precious and spoiled kittyies, Cleopatra and Wicky Wacky.

Mary graduated with honors from St. Catherine’s Grammar School and Girls Latin High School. She attended Suffolk University evenings and received a B.S. degree. She continued her education at the Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing in Medford, where she received her RN Cap with Honors. Mary sent her resume to the Mayo Clinic. She quickly received an invitation to visit Rochester, Minn., for an interview. Mary was hired to work with doctors in the Infectious Diseases department.

While working at Mayo, Mary had a serious car accident which caused severe Injuries and led to weeks in the hospital and months of recuperation at her home with her mother’s help. After six months, she was able to return to work but was never back to her pre-accident self. She was able to work remotely from her home until her passing. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
