MALDEN — Carol A. (Roman) Gori, 73, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away peacefully at CHA Everett on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

Carol was born in Moriah, New York, daughter of the late Walter S. Roman and Lucille A. (Glebus) Roman. She was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton. Carol was married to Marco Gori and they settled in Malden to raise two sons. Carol was employed in the travel industry for over 35 years. She began her career working for Eastern Airlines in the 1980’s, then transitioned to being a travel agent for Globe Trotter, and more recently for AAA Travel Southern New England in Burlington.

Carol was blessed with a big heart, ever present smile, and love for making other people feel good. She was thoughtful, selfless, and thought of everyone in the house, including the dogs. She and Marco shared a beautiful, close marriage that revolved around family and friends. They were always together, either hosting friends or family at their home in Malden, or relaxing up at the cottage on Northeast Pond in Milton, N.H. Through Carol’s job in the travel industry, they enjoyed many trips throughout the world including Paris, Italy, Moscow, Spain, Hong Kong, and Thailand. She and Marco took their family to Disney World every year when they were young. Dedicated, and full of life, Carol was a loyal, proud wife, mother and grandmother who was a constant supportive presence to everyone in the family.

Summer weekends were spent on the lake where Carol lived for what she called “floaty days” which meant a hot sunny day spent floating on the lake to cool down. She relished in having her children, and grandchildren come up to the lake house for fishing off the dock, horseshoes, or rainy day cribbage tournaments. The lake house was Carol’s place, and she loved sharing the summer days with her family. A kind and dear friend to many, Carol was a great listener and never missed an opportunity to send a card.

A great cook, Carol was an experienced and flawless hostess who filled holidays with an abundance of delicious food. She crafted family favorites as well as traditional Polish and Italian food, and she was never afraid of trying a new recipe from a TV cooking show. All of which were prepared with the love and attention that she willingly shared with her family and friends. Her homes in Malden, and New Hampshire served as the gathering place for several generations of family and friends, all centered around the love, laughter, and food that she effortlessly provided.

A proud “Nani”, she always brought something special for her five grandchildren, never missing a sporting event, recital, or first day of school. Nani was always there. She and her cousin, Pat, shared a special relationship from a young age that continued as a lifelong bond through weekend trips to Milton and North Conway, and holiday gatherings. A faithful woman, Carol was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden for over 50 years.

Through her generous spirit and welcoming heart, Carol left an indelible imprint on the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply and sorely missed, but her impact will carry on as a beautiful legacy to a life well lived.

Carol was the beloved wife of Marco Gori with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Daughter of the late Walter S. Roman and Lucille (Glebus) Roman. Devoted mother of Jason Gori and his wife Christine of Wakefield, and Tomas Gori and his wife Sabrina of Saugus. Proud grandmother of Zachary, Ethan, Isabella, Jackson, and Charlie Gori. Loving cousin of Patricia (Glebus) Kolak and her husband Joe of Marlborough.

Due to the ongoing public health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people in the community, Services for Carol will be announced in the future so that all may gather to honor, remember and celebrate her life. Gifts in memory of Carol may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 76 Batterson Park Rd., Farmington, CT 06032, or online at www.komennewengland.org or to Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden MA 02148. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
