A bargain shopper who loved fishing and visiting Sebago Lake
WAKEFIELD — Carol J. Sargent, a resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital at age 73.
Carol was born in Melrose on December 13, 1950. Raised and educated in Melrose, she was a graduate of Melrose High School. In her youth, Carol spent time every summer with her family at Humarock Beach in Scituate where her love of the beach was born. As an adult, she moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to enjoy warm weather and year round beach time.
Always helpful, Carol worked for many years as a waitress at local restaurants. In her free time, she loved fishing with her brother Gordon and was well known for her success as a bargain shopper. Happiest when with her family, she also loved visiting her brother on Sebago Lake in Maine to see family. Kind, humble and helpful, Carol was dedicated to her family and always willing to help anyone in need. After living in Florida for many years, she moved back to Wakefield to care for her elderly mother. Carol was a true friend, good neighbor and a great support for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Carol was the cherished daughter of the late J. Dean Sargent and Margaret (Ratcliffe) Sargent. Dear sister of Beverly Heald and her husband James of Arundel, ME; Gordon Sargent of Wakefield; and the late Wayne Sargent and his surviving wife Carol of Salem, NH.
