DUNEDIN, FLA. — David B. Geary, 75, of Dunedin, Fla., formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 2, 2018. David was born in Gloucester on October 24, 1942 to the late John W. and Ethel (Mitchell) Geary. He was raised in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School.  

Dave worked as an electrician for many years at Polaroid before transitioning to maintenance work for Fidelity. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, hunting, cooking, playing cribbage, and most of all telling a good joke. Dave enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood and life generally. After moving to Florida, he certainly didn’t miss the snow but looked forward to coming home to visit and having fried clams and lobsters in Essex.  

David was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Callahan) Geary. Loving father of Michelle K. Tassinari and her husband Michael of Wilmington, and Brian Geary and his wife Stephanie of Danville, N.H. He adored his grandchildren Sophia Tassinari and Kayla and Connor Geary. He also leaves behind four sisters, Jacqueline Wilder of St. Petersburg, Fla., wife of the late James Wilder, Carole Cheverie of Salisbury, wife of the late William Cheverie, Pamela Mickool of No. Dartmouth, wife of the late Daniel Mickool, Sharon, wife of Paul Berube of Kingston, N.H., and a brother Thomas Geary, husband of Debbie of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Joan Boeggeman and Marjorie Manzi; and two brothers, Robert Geary and John D. Geary.  

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on April 14, at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
