SAUGUS — Domenico “Mimmo” Ternullo, 67, of Saugus, died August 30, 2019 after a brief illness.
Domenic was born on in Augusta, Sicily on April 1, 1952 to Giovanni and Carmela (LaPorta) Ternullo. He spent his childhood in Sicily before immigrating with his family to the United States at the age of 16.
Domenic owned and operated G&T Auto Body on Tremont Street in Melrose since 1977. He knew the value of hard work and dedication. Cars were his passion; he loved working on them as well as buying and driving them. He was a sports car aficionado. Domenic was always up for a good time and was constantly inviting friends and family to meet him at Foxwoods or join him in Vegas. He believed in giving back to his community – over the years, he found many ways to give back with his time and labor. He was a family man first and foremost. He’ll be greatly missed by them all.
Son of Carmela Ternullo of Wareham and the late Giovanni Ternullo. Husband of Fabiana Ternullo of Saugus. Father of Carmela Curley and her husband Chris of Melrose, John Ternullo and his wife Michelle of North Andover, and Mimmo Ternullo of Saugus. Grandfather of Christina, Nicolas, and Jonathan. Brother of Antonio and Sandra Ternullo of Derry, N.H., Claudio Ternullo and Margie Bencivenga of Revere, Filipo and Nella Ternullo of Peabody, Carmela Ternullo of Wareham, and Mario and Susan Ternullo of Peabody. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 6 from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Funeral procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham.
