MELROSE — Elena P. (Fiore) Previte, 93, passed away peacefully at The Residence at Melrose Station on Oct. 15, 2019.

Elena was born in Boston to Joseph and Stella (Mariani) Fiore on December 21, 1925 and was the middle child of five children. She grew up in Hyde Park where she graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1943. She then went on to attend Burdett College to pursue secretarial science education.

On Valentine’s Day 1960 she met the love of her life, Andrew, at a dance where it is said that he saw her across the dance floor and told his buddy “you see that girl over there…I am going to marry her.”

They were married on April 15, 1961 at St. Pius X Church and had the most wonderful, loving marriage and were role models to so many.

Elena was a devoted, dedicated, nurturing mother to her two children Peter and Christina.

Having a child with special needs changed Elena’s path somewhat as she committed herself to being a stay at home mother putting her children’s needs before all else.

She was an active member of EMARC (now known as Communitas), a group that focuses on individualized support for people of all disabilities where she acted as both secretary and eventually treasurer.

Elena was an amazing cook. She took pride in providing her family with such delicious meals. Family was the most important thing to Elena. She was full of joy when her entire family (sister, brothers, nieces and nephews) were together.

She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Dressed with such elegance, grace and style one would always take notice when she entered a room.

She was the sweetest and most caring grandmother to Daniel and Timothy as well as, for a short time, with her late grandson Matthew. Their memory of her time with them will live on forever.

Elena was also an active and devout member of The Church of the Incarnation since the early 1960’s.

Elena was the beloved wife of 58 years to Andrew J. Previte. Dedicated and loving mother of Peter Previte, and Christina E. Raymond and her husband Daniel of Windham, N.H. Cherished grandmother of Daniel J. Raymond II and his wife Kaitlyn, Timothy M. Raymond and the late Matthew A. Raymond. Caring sister of Adele Tarallo of Canton, Alfred Fiore of Milton and the late John Fiore and Dino Fiore. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
