MELROSE — Helen M. (Sokolowski) Velluto, 92, of Melrose, died unexpectedly at home on November 14, 2018.

Helen was born in Ipswich, raised in Lynn and attended Lynn Classical High School. She was a homemaker and resided in Melrose since 1948. Helen was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was a tremendous cook and loved to take trips to Maine and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Helen’s family was the most important part of her life and she loved to take care of her grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo F. “Jule” Velluto for 54 years. Loving mother of Frank R. Velluto and his wife Paula of Melrose, Stephen M. Velluto and his wife Mary Ann of Va. and Susan M. Morales and her husband Foster of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of JuliAnn, Michael, Christopher, Alexandra, Elissa and Marco. Great-grandmother of Giuliana, Gregory, Elena and Wilder. Predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
