MELROSE — Mrs. Ilse E. (Gund) Lewis, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at the Elmhurst Rehabilitation Center in Melrose on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at age 96.
Ilse was born in Mannheim, Germany on March 15, 1921. She was raised in Germany before moving to the United States and settling in Melrose with her husband.
Ilse was the beloved wife of the late Lance Lewis. Devoted daughter of the late Wilhelm Gund and Ida B. Gund. Also survived by several dear friends and neighbors.
Relatives and friends gathered in honor of Ilse at her funeral service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, celebrated on Tuesday, October 3.
