MELROSE – Joyce A. (LaMarca) Currier, 76, of Melrose , passed away at the Sawtelle House on January 2, 2019 after a brief illness.

Joyce was born on January 29, 1942 to the late Stephen and Josephine (Turco) LaMarca. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School. Mrs. Currier was the co-owner of Mam’selle Hair Salon on West Emerson St. in Melrose for many years with her sister Dorothy and brother Tom. Joyce had a very warm and loving personality and loved her slot machines.

She was the best friend and devoted wife of 53 years to George Currier. Daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine (Turco) LaMarca. Loving sister of the late Dorothy (LaMarca) Huber and her husband Randy of Melrose and the late Gaetano “Tom” LaMarca and his wife Lynne of Melrose. She is survived by her husband George, their son Gio and his wife Rachel, and her grandson Luca, Chris LaMarca and his wife Satu of Mansfield, Laura (LaMarca) Moscoso and her husband Geovanni of Swampscott, Kimberly (LaMarca) Hosford and Stephen LaMarca both of Haverhill. Also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews of all whom she loved dearly.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert St. Melrose, on Tuesday , January 15 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s name to Sawtelle House, 320 Haverhill St. Reading, MA. 01867.
