MALDEN — Susan A. “Susie” Tura, 66, a resident of Malden, passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Malden on Nov. 11, 1954, Susie was one of four children of the late Charles F. and Elizabeth A. (Wilson) Tura.

Susie was the beloved wife of the late Bruce B. Culleton, with whom she shared a lifetime of love. Devoted sister of Constance M. Ferreira and her husband James of Melrose, Lisa M. Gorman and her husband Sean of Melrose, and the late Charles F. Tura and his surviving wife Deborah S. Tura of Reading. Cherished aunt of James Ferreira, Haley Gorman, Alyssa Gorman, Cameron Gorman and the late Catherine Ferreira. She is also survived by many dear relatives and friends.

Known for her beautiful blue eyes, sweet demeanor and kind spirit, Susie was a hometown girl who kept her Melrose roots strong, and her ties active throughout her lifetime. She was a graduate of the great MHS Class of ‘72 and adored her days of Melrose parties and great friendships.

Susie’s life was blessed with a soulmate in Bruce. They made a beautiful home together, where they hosted many a cookout and celebration, always known for their fun.

As the “big” sister, Susie was loyal and caring to Charlie, Connie and Lisa. As “Auntie,” she reveled in her nieces’ and nephews’ accomplishments on the field, the diamond and the ice, proud of their Melrose sportsmanship.

Susie was an insurance broker who worked specifically with commercial lines and built her 40-year career with two Melrose agencies, Alley Insurance and T.F. Ward Insurance.

When not working in her yard, Susie was a frequent patron at Red Sox games, and she especially enjoyed family trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Due to current COVID restrictions, Susan’s service is private at this time. A memorial celebration will be planned by the family in 2021.
