MELROSE — Suzanne J. (Flynn) Walsh, 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Melrose on Dec. 25, 2020.
Suzanne was the loving mother of Carrie A. Deterding and her husband Greg of Saugus and Michael T. Walsh and his wife Kelly of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Taylor, Julia, Emily, Tyler and Ella. Caring sister of Carole Silverstein, Michael Flynn and Toby Stockless. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was born in Portland, Maine, moved to Malden, graduated from Malden High School and eventually resided in Melrose for the last 14 years. After high school, she worked at the phone company in Malden, making many lifelong friends. Later she worked in a law firm in Boston as a legal secretary, always making new friends along the way.
Suzanne enjoyed her many visits to Ogunquit, Maine, soaking up the sun and walking the Marginal Way with her family. She took great pride in her home, painting, fixing and gardening in her spare time until it was perfect. She enjoyed board games, crosswords (hiding the cheat sheet IF she needed it) and spending time with her family. Almost forgot to mention the love of her life, her dog Cody! She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitation and funeral services will be private. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home in Melrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Suzanne’s name to A Servant Heart Pantry, 200 Franklin St., Melrose, MA 02176.
