PHOTO: Educational solidarity

THE CITY’S TEACHERS demonstrated last Friday outside the public schools (this is at the Winthrop) in support of colleagues who, in their opinion, have been unfairly let go. This is the time of year when newer teachers are told whether they will be back next year, and union members feel there are a number of them who have been fired without cause due to the teacher evaluation system not being used properly. Administrators say the system has been used the right way and works the way it should.
