WAKEFIELD — Phyllis Kenney Anthony, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Feb. 12, 2015. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., Wakefield.

She was born in Providence, R.I. on July 29, 1925, to the late Havena (Hopkins) and Gordon B. Kenney. She graduated from Cranston (R.I.) High School and received an associate degree at Lasalle Junior College in Newton.

She married the late Richard P. Anthony in 1954. In 2008, after the passing of Richard, she moved to Amherst to be near her grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters Linda and her husband Dub of Missoula, Mont. and Carol and her husband Doug of Amherst and her grandchildren Charlie and Julia. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Gordon S. Kenney and his wife Bernice of Truro, N.S., as well as many nieces and nephews.
