FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Michael Edward Stanley, 56, formerly of Wakefield and Reading, Mass. passed peacefully on March 8, 2019 at Longwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Michael was born in Winchester, Mass. on April 11, 1962 to the late Alice Mae (Amirault) Stanley/Richardson and Edward (Tony) H. Stanley. He grew up in Reading and attended local schools.

Michael worked at many local bakeries in Wakefield. Michael was a kind soul always rooting for the underdog. He enjoyed playing in cribbage tournaments and had a real knack for chess. He was a bell ringer for Salvation Army in Fort Pierce, Fla. where he enjoyed his last years.

In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his loving wife Karen (Burns) Stanley. He also is survived by three sisters, Donna Whalen and husband Michael of Salem, N.H., Kimberly Richardson and fiancé Paul Gracia of Chester, N.H., Christine Dresser and husband Robert of Litchfield, N.H. and two brothers Mark Stanley and his wife Valerie of Tewksbury, Mass. and Alan Stanley and his wife Kylee of Wakefield and sister-in-law Diane Stanley-Jarmmal of Woburn, Mass. Michael was predeceased by his brother Kevin Stanley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
