NORTH READING — Now in its 14th year, the North Reading Turkey Trot continues to grow in popularity, with 1,786 runners and walkers of all ages completing the course.
Topping the list of 1,181 competitors in the 5K race was Andrew Yatsuhashi, 24, of Reading. As the first place overall winner with a time of 16:08.4, he took home the Frederick A. Keyes Award in the male division.
The first female to finish the course was Jaclyn Solimine, 29, of Derry, N.H. with a time of 18:10.6. She finished ninth overall.
The 1.75 mile walking course was completed by 405 people in the family-friendly event designed by the North Reading Hornet Hall of Fame Committee to get families outside and exercising together across the generations.
The costume contest remains quite popular too, with dozens competing to win prizes from Joker’s Wild.
