THE AWESOME MUSIC OF the Wakefield Summer Band can be heard this Friday at the Lower Common.

WAKEFIELD — This Friday at 7 p.m., the Wakefield Summer Band continues its 14th season of their popular “Fridays at the Bandstand” series for the community. Come on down to the bandstand and cool off by listening to the sounds of Sousa marches, Broadway and movie soundtracks, arrangements of classical repertoire and music from the ‘60s.
Remaining concerts this summer will be on Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Feel free to bring chairs or blankets and maybe even a little food or drink to enjoy while you are entertained by the familiar music in the band’s program. In case of rain, the concert will be moved inside to First Parish Congregational Church next door to the Common.
The Wakefield Summer Band is a volunteer, intergenerational ensemble open to anyone without audition, founded to serve our community with a regular series of Lakeside concerts during the summer. Please contact Don Hodgkins, founder/director, for any further information at 781-724-3297 or Donhodg@aol.com.
