WEST ROXBURY — Nora (O’Mahoney) McHugh, 81, of West Roxbury, formerly of Roslindale, died on Dec. 10, 2014.
Mrs. McHugh was born on May 13, 1933 in Kanturk, Co. Cork, Ireland. She was the beloved wife of the late James McHugh for 56 years.
She was the devoted mother of Mary E. “Marie” Donovan and her husband, Thomas F. of East Walpole, James G. and his wife, Melina H. of Lynnfield, Eileen T. Olsen and her husband, Ron of Walpole and Anne F. Childs and her husband, Jonathan of Sudbury.
She was also the loving Nana of Noreen E. (Donovan) Anderson and her husband, Luke K. of Taunton, Dennis F. Donovan of East Walpole, Gregory J. McHugh of Lynnfield, Thomas R. Cashman of West Roxbury, Jessica L. Olsen of Walpole, Amanda Olsen of Tampa, Fla., and Andrew J. Childs and Matthew W. Childs, both of Sudbury.
In addition, she was the beloved great-grandmother of Thomas P. Cashman of Dedham and Aisling M. and Liam M. Anderson of Taunton. She was also the loving sister of Thade O’Mahony, John O’Mahony, Edmund O’Mahony, and Joseph O’Mahony, all of Kanturk, Ireland, and Daniel O’Mahony of England, and the late Mary Harrington of West Roxbury, Julia Gallagher of Brighton, Kathleen Mawn of Hyde Park, Elizabeth (Betty) O’Connor of Milton, and Joan Brosnan, Nellie Keating, William O’Mahony and two infant brothers of Ireland and Patsy O’Mahony of England.
Her funeral was held from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury on Monday, Dec. 15 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa of Avila Church. Interment took place at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass. To sign guestbook please visit www.gormleyfuneral.com.
