Longtime resident belonged to many local groups

HOPKINTON — Norma M. Anderson, 93, of Hopkinton and a former longtime resident of Wakefield, died at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Born in Everett, July 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Mary J. (McLoughlin) Brady Jr.
Norma was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1942. Her father James Brady Jr. was a retired Commander for the United States Coast Guard.
She was a member of the Wakefield Garden Club, the Wakefield Y.M.C.A. Auxiliary, Wakefield Historical Society and the Hartshorne House. She also volunteered her time at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, American Red Cross and the Hopkinton Senior Gift Shop. Norma was also a Board member of the former E.E. Boit Home of Wakefield.
Norma was the wife of the late John E. Anderson, She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Anderson of Hopkinton, Christine Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and John E. Anderson Jr. of Jamaica Plain. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kristen Fitzpatrick of New York. Norma was preceded in death by her brother James F. Brady III.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o’clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
