NORTH READING — The soggy Memorial Day weekend forced the postponement of the 41st annual Robert Hunt Memorial Alumni baseball game to this Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at North Reading High School’s Carey Park.

The schedule will also be reversed. The dedication of the concession stand at Carey Park in honor of Gloria Mastro will now kick off the day’s festivities, followed by the Alumni Game.

While no admission fee is charged donations will be gratefully accepted to fund the Hunt Scholarship which will be given to a worthy senior baseball player from the NRHS Class of 2021.

The North Reading Diamond Club chose to rename the concession stand to honor the long-time community leader.

Gloria Mastro was a pioneer in establishing the North Reading Athletic Boosters. The North Reading Diamond Club will also provide a one-time scholarship in her honor.

Baseball stars of yesterday who have committed to play in this year’s game are Chris and Craig Hanson, Steve Capezzuto, Chris Hayter, Tom and John Day, Ryan Warnock, Matt DiVecchia, Brendan Tilton, Vin Bonanno, Matt Cecchini, Matt Capozzoli, Matt Solecki, Alex D’Ambrosio, Marco Vittozzi Jr., Joe Dardeno, A.J. Richardson and Mark Moise.

As always, infield practice will begin 30 minutes before the first pitch. Former players interested in participating must contact Coach Frank Carey in advance at: fdcarey13@gmail.com.
