NORTH READING — The North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT) will be sponsoring its ninth annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6 at Ipswich River Park.

National Night Out is an event focused on strengthening North Reading by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners. The goal is to heighten crime‐prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti‐crime programs, and promote safety issues.

The CIT is seeking professionals, community and youth groups to host resource tables on community programs, safety and law enforcement topics. Table space is free of charge. Approved vendors and sponsors should be providing information to families on matters related to the event.

Guidelines for vendors, presenters and sponsors for National Night Out

The following guidelines/criteria should be met by all vendors, presenters, and sponsors at NNO:

  • Materials/give-aways must be tied to the NNO subject matter: community programs, public safety (all ages), law enforcement, or community resources
  • Must provide your own set up and break down
  • All vendors/resource tables/table hosts must provide own equipment including table and chairs
  • Tents recommended
  • Non-profit groups are encouraged, but must still meet the subject matter requirements
  • Political groups and lobbying groups are prohibited
  • All give-aways must be pre-approved by the NNO Committee for safety purposes
  • You may not sell any item nor ask for donations

Final decisions regarding vendors will be made by the National Night Out Committee.

The group is also seeking sponsors for the August 6 event. To learn more on how to be a vendor or sponsor, visit www.northreadingma.gov/CIT and click on “National Night Out” or contact Amy Luckiewicz at coalition@northreadingma.gov.
