NORTH READING —The Town of North Reading is seeking volunteers to serve on the Conservation Commission.

This commission, which is appointed by the Select Board, is responsible for formulating local environmental protection policies and enforcing the state and local wetlands protection laws.  A viable committee is important to all property owners in town as nearly all construction, renovations, septic installations and landscaping alterations require some form of conservation input and/or approval.

Experience is helpful but a resident with a willingness to learn about conservation is just as valuable.  Those who are interested are asked to complete a Citizen Activity Form on the town’s website at https://northreadingmaboards.vt-s.net/newcaf.php or contact the Town Administrator’s Office at 978-357-5225 to receive a paper application.

To learn more about the Conservation Commission’s role and responsibilities, contact the Conservation office at 978-357-5247.  Meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall, 235 North St.
