MIDDLETON — The North Reading-Danvers High co-op gymnastics team had a rough weekend last weekend as they lost both of their meets. On Jan. 28, they were edged 134.85 to 134.2 by visiting Marblehead-Swampscott at Yellow Jackets in Middleton. With the defeat, the Falcons’ record fell to 3-3.

“We were proud of the girls for coming back so strong the night after a tough meet in Winthrop,” said Falcons head coach Jen Habeeb. “That score for us was a season best.”

Danvers won two of the four total events, led by Caroline Boucher who was first on the floor exercise (8.9) and first in the all-around (35.0). Alex Serino placed first on the balance beam with a 8.75. Serino was also third on the bars with an 8.4. 

Boucher also captured second on the bars with an 8.8

Jenna D’Ambrosio placed third on the beam with a 8.65.

In the Winthrop meet, at the Winthrop Gymnastics Club on Jan. 27, the Falcons lost 136.2 to 126.85.

Boucher tied for third on floor with 8.3 and Serino was third in the all-around with a 31.4.

On Jan. 21, the Falcons lost to Beverly, 133.8 to 132.1.

Boucher was tied for first in the vault at 9.2 while Serino captured first on the beam at 8.8.

Boucher was second on the bars with 8.3 and was also second in the all-around at 34.55. D’Ambrosio placed third on the beam at 8.6.
