Registration on Aug. 22; open to ages 9-16

NORTH READING — Registration for the North Reading Diamond Club’s fall baseball program will take place Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m.–12 noon at Benevento Park (the North Reading Little League complex) on Central Street.
In coordination with North Reading Little League, the Diamond Club will sponsor a Small Diamond program for those who will be baseball ages 9-12 in 2021 and a Big Diamond program for those who will be ages 13-16. These developmental programs will have two weekly practices, as well as a game each Saturday against a local opponent. The program runs Sept. 7-Oct. 17. The $150 cost also includes a hat and team shirt.
“Given the loss of practice and playing opportunities because of the COVID virus, getting additional reps on the field this fall is going to be even more important for young ballplayers,” said Diamond Club program director and NRLL player development director Marco Vittozzi. “Whether a player is moving up to Minors or Majors, moving from the Small Diamond to the Big Diamond, or preparing for next year’s high school season, these programs will help reinforce fundamentals, develop skills, and advance their understanding of the game.”
