Shoppers buy local fruits and vegetables at the North Reading Farmers Market

Yarrow, the Balloon Man works his magic at the North Reading Farmers Market on Wednesday, 3:30 to 7.

NORTH READING- With only two more weeks of the North Reading Farmers Market, this Wednesday’s penultimate Market promises to be a lollapalooza, maybe even a Farmapalooza.  Lots of activities for young people are planned.  “Like A Princess Party Events” will bring costumed princess characters to interact with and pose for photographs with kids.

Kids of all ages can test their skills in Hula-Hoop contests, Bean Bag Toss, and other supervised races and relays.  There’ll be Face Painting, free Popsicles and Yarrow, the amazing Balloon Man will be there creating his balloon magic.

The main attraction at the Farmers Market, though is the abundance of fresh, local fruit & vegetables, baked goods, fish, crafts, lemonade & Kettle Corn.  Visiting with friends and neighbors, enjoying the fresh air and open space of our special Ipswich River Park is a side benefit.  Even though the BBQ Concerts are over for the season, there’s still a good reason to come to the IRP on the next two Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7.  And that is: the North Reading Farmers Market.  If we have heavy rain on the 22nd, Farmapalooza will be postponed until the 29th.  Check our Facebook message at North Reading Community Connection.
