NORTH READING — Residents of all ages are invited to attend a family-friendly night to celebrate a safe community at the 9th annual National Night out on Tuesday, August 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ipswich River Park.
National Night Out is an event focused on strengthening the town by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners. The goal is to heighten crime‐prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti‐crime programs, and promote safety issues, including fire safety.
In addition to enjoying a free BBQ, face painting and bouncy house, there will be rescue and law enforcement truck demonstrations as well as information on protecting seniors and family members from identity theft and scams; disaster preparation information; a substance abuse education walk-through and more.
Attendees will have opportunities to engage with a variety of vendors who will have informational materials and give-aways tied to the NNO theme of community programs, public safety for all ages, law enforcement and community resources.
The rain date is Tuesday, August 13. Those who need a ride to the event may contact Elder Services at 978-664-5600. This event is sponsored by the North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT). To learn more contact Amy Luckiewicz at coalition@northreadingma.gov.
