NORTH READING — A curbside collection of yard waste will take place this Saturday, May 7. Yard waste must be curbside by 6:30 a.m. and placed in paper bags only.
Please note the following requirements:
• no plastic bags
• no barrels
• branches must be no greater than three inches in diameter and cut to lengths of no more than three feet
• branches must be bundled and tied (not bagged)
Compost Center
The Compost Center at the Richard F. Spindler DPW Garage, 166 Chestnut St., is open to allow residents to drop off yard waste on Saturdays from April 1 to November 30 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. There are two separate piles – one for grass clippings and leaves and one for brush; please deposit yard waste in the appropriate pile.
Waste oil recycling
Resident may drop off waste oil at the DPW Garage on the last Saturday of every month, from April to November, between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon.
