LYNN— North Reading made a major impression at this summer’s Agganis All Star Classic games. Ten North Reading seniors participated, eight from North Reading High School, one from Bishop Fenwick and one from Pingree School.

Softball, June 26

Carly Swartz played on the North team, which lost, 5-3 to the South. Carly went 2 for 2 in hitting with a stolen base and played center field, shortstop and third base for the North.

Girls’ basketball, June 27

Jessica Lezon, Carly Swartz and Sydney Brennan (Bishop Fenwick) all played. Jessica and Carly were on the North Team and Sydney Brennan was on the South team. The South team won, 32-29. Jess Lezon was MVP for the North and scored 14 pts, 15 rebounds and had 4 blocks as the center. Carly Swartz had 5 assists and 3 steals as the point guard. Sydney Brennan had 2 points and 3 rebounds as guard.

Girls’ lacrosse, June 29

Katie Welch, Julia Miele and Tristan Hoffman all played for the South team. South lost, 21-8 to the North team. Katie Welch scored two goals as an attack. Julia Miele and Tristan Hoffman both played midfield.

Boys’ lacrosse, June 29

Nick Ponte, Patrick Riley and Nate Distasio all played for the South team. They beat the North team 13-6. Nick Ponte had five saves for the South. Pat Riley played defense and Nate Distasio played Midfield.

Football, June 30

Griffin Beal (Pingree) played quarterback for the south team, which beat the North team 27-19. Griffin was 7 for 13 passing with 114 passing yards, two throwing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.
