Loved waterskiing, boating and family time at the Lake

NORTH READING — Douglas A. Whynot of North Reading, formerly of Peabody, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2022 at 63 years of age.

Doug was born in Melrose on February 23, 1959 to Donald and Ann (Talieri) Whynot and raised in Peabody. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University where he met his wife, Patricia A. (Christensen) Whynot.

Doug was an avid hockey player, playing goalie as a kid and in adult leagues. He was a huge Bruins fan and loved snow skiing. His passions were waterskiing, boating and spending time with family and friends at Suncook Lake in Barnstead, N.H. Doug was a fixture of the lake community and was often seen (and heard) cruising in his Corvette Malibu boat.

Doug loved his family, and nothing made him happier than taking care of others. He especially loved cooking for his wife, kids and grandkids. He will be dearly missed.

Doug was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Christensen) Whynot. He was the loving father of Debra L. Hardimon and her husband Mike of Tewksbury; Andrew D. Whynot and his wife Jeanne of Somerville; and Heather A. Nevers and her husband Travis of Tewksbury.

He was the proud Grampie of Cameron Hardimon; Alex, Danny and Eleanor Whynot; and Layla and Alanna Nevers. Doug was the devoted brother of Donna Clark and her husband Mark of Peabody and the cherished uncle of Brian Clark of Lynn.
