Her greatest joy came from being with her family

NORTH READING — Patricia (Johnston) Todisco, of North Reading, beloved wife of 59 years to Philip R. Todisco, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Worcester on June 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Mary Johnston.

Pat grew up in Reading and Salem, New Hampshire and was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Class of 1961. She then attended Merrimack College. For many years, Pat worked as an executive secretary for Raytheon, where she met her future husband, Phil, and then for New England Medical Center in Boston until her retirement.

Pat made many wonderful memories. She cooked many meals for spaghetti dinners at St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading and her meatballs were famous among her family and friends. Pat was an animal lover, being fond of horses and riding when she was younger and she also loved her faithful companion, her dog Tedi.

Pat’s greatest joy came from being with her family. They enjoyed many vacations together, including cruises and visiting Hawaii as often as she could. She will truly be missed by her loving family and all who knew her.

In addition to being the beloved wife of Philip, she was the devoted mother of Donna M. Todisco of Kennebunk, Maine; Robert P. Todisco and his wife, Diane, of Wilmington; Caren L. Todisco of North Reading and the late Philip C. Todisco of North Reading. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrea R. Arvanites, Taylor L. Todisco, Caitlyn P. Todisco, Spencer R. Todisco, Kaylee E. Todisco and Maxwell R. Todisco. Patricia was the loving sister of Barbara Svaboda and the late James Johnston, and she also leaves many other extended family members and friends.

Her funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park Street, North Reading, was held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment followed at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Family and friends attended visiting hours with Patricia’s family at the funeral home on Monday, August 16.
