THE NRYB 6th grade boys’ basketball team added another championship to their tally this year by winning the end-of-the-year Cape Ann League Tournament. The boys kicked off the season by winning the Fundamental Hoops Thanksgiving Tournament and finishing the season with a run to the CAL championship. The team opened the CAL Tournament with convincing wins over Peabody and Melrose and also faced Beverly three times over two days, needing to win twice in this double elimination format. The North Reading boys demonstrated their mettle and squeaked out a narrow 55-53 in the championship over Beverly.
