WAKEFIELD — The DPW has announced that the portion of North Avenue between Armory Street and Broadway will be closed to through traffic on Thursday, Sept. 1 for roadway improvements. The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Workers will be repairing damage to the roadway that resulted after a water main break in front of 68 North Ave. on Aug 12.
The DPW has asked that vehicles be removed from the street during this period. Affected business owners will be notified of the work. According to the DPW, the Galvin Middle School will not be affected and a police detail officer will be on duty to assist any motorists needing assistance.
