WAKEFIELD — Patricia (Pat) (Sparks) Gutro, 88, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mildred (Sirois) Sparks and was born in Malden. She graduated from Everett High School and from the Whidden Nursing Program where she would be remembered as “full of fun and always ready for mischief.” Pat spent most of her career as an RN at Greenview Manor Nursing Home in Wakefield.

Pat resided in Wakefield for most of her life. She loved to ride her bike and was one of the first members to join the Gloria Stevens aerobics class held at the Civic Center. She was also very active with the Emmanuel Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild.

She was best known for her pies and love of anything chocolate. She never failed to leave the sweet potatoes in the oven at the holidays, only to find them after the meal when warming up pies. We will continue this tradition as we remember how much she laughed about this every year. Pat loved to shop and cherished the holidays and visits with family. She had a great sense of humor and was always kind and caring.

Pat was predeceased by her husband Jim to whom she was married for 64 years and her siblings, John Sparks, Richard Sparks, Barbara Gertz and Dorothy King. She is survived by her three children, Paula Fuller and her husband, Michael, of Wilmington; James Gutro Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Lincoln, N.H. and Patricia Butler and her husband, David, of Merrimack, N.H. She is also survived by her grandsons, Michael Fuller and his wife, Helen; James Gutro; Matthew Gutro and his wife, Ezgi; Brian Gutro; Nicholas Butler, Jesse Butler and Derek Butler and three great granddaughters – Athena Gutro, Lila Fuller and Nina Fuller as well as other dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private funeral service will be held for Pat at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Wakefield, MA at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022.
