A kindhearted, caring person who had a passion for music

WAKEFIELD — John B. Rubner III of Wakefield, formerly of Stoneham, died on Thursday, January 27 from complications due to COVID-19.

Born in Stoneham on August 1, 1950, he was the son of John B. Jr., and Phyllis (Redmond) Rubner of Plaistow, New Hampshire.

John was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1968 and had attended Bryant & Stratton College. He served in the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 35 years. John worked for over 40 years as a dedicated postal processing clerk for the United States Postal Service in South Boston. John was a kindhearted, caring person. He had a passion for all genres of music and enjoyed going to record stores and live music venues.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his five siblings: Michael Rubner and his wife, Barbara, of Winthrop, Maine; Cathy Hoctor and her husband, Tom, of Stoneham; Steven Rubner and his wife, Chris, of Concord; Linda Kelly and her husband, Bud, of Intervale, New Hampshire and Brian Rubner and his wife, Brooke, of Goffstown, New Hampshire. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
