THAXTON, VA — Paulette Spadafora Brunning, 67, of Thaxton, VA passed away Monday, September 12, at University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born on Friday, July 29, 1949 in Philadephia, PA, a daughter of the late Leo Spadafora and Elvira Pasamonte Spadafora. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Jean Dennis Dupuis.
She was a teacher’s aide with Bedford County Public Schools and was a member of St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Joseph Brunning; her sister, Maria Crupi and husband, Thomas of London Derry, NH; her nephew, Peter Crupi and friend, Stacey of Wakefield, MA; her nephew, Andrea Costa and husband, Greg of Boston, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, Cove Road, Roanoke, VA with Rev. Kevin Beaton, SFO officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery, Roanoke, VA.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 16, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford, VA.
