A machinist who loved music

PhilIp-Gonnam-webBILLERICA — Philip C. Gonnam, 63, of Billerica and formerly of North Reading, died Monday, July 13, at Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Portland, Maine on June 23, 1952. He was raised and attended North Reading Public Schools and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1970. Philip worked as a machinist for many years. He has been a resident of Billerica for the past 28 years and was a member of St. Theresa Parish in Billerica. He always had a great love for music.

Family members include his loving wife, Nanci (Hrynowski) Gonnam; his son, Eric C. Gonnam, both of Billerica; his father, Carl Gonnam of North Reading and his late mother, Theresa (Lally) Gonnam. He is also survived by his brother, George Gonnam of North Reading; sisters, Nancy Gonnam of North Reading and Mary Ann Gonnam and her husband John Hudson; his sister-in-law, Jane McCarthy, all of Wilmington; his brother-in-law, Peter Hrynowski of Derry, N.H. and several nieces and nephews.

Philip’s funeral was held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Monday, July 20. Calling hours were held on Sunday, July 19. Interment in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
