Cherished family man was avid fan of Boston/N.E. Patriots

SAUGUS — Philip J. Gibbons, 87, of Saugus, formerly of Everett, passed away on Nov. 9, 2016.

Born on May 6, 1929, he was the husband of the late Margaret (Scribner) Gibbons with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.  He was the loving father of Noreen Condardo and her husband Thomas of Lynnfield; Kathy Conti and her husband Peter of Saugus; Therese Joyce of New Hampshire and her late husband Edward; and Philip Gibbons Jr. and his companion Diane DePrato of East Boston. He was also the brother of the late Adele Gibbons and the cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 10 great-granchildren.

Mr. Gibbons was retired from MetLife Insurance Co. He was a life member of the Saugus Elks and lifelong Boston Patriots/New England Patriots fan.

Services were held on Monday at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus followed by a funeral Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
