Resident of town for over 20 years

Philip-Maguire-Obit-webNORTH READING — Phillip P. Maguire Jr., 65, passed away on Aug. 1, 2016.  Phil resided in North Reading for over 20 years.

Born on May 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Philip P. Maguire and Mary E. (Bessie) Maguire of Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School, class of 1969.

Two sisters, Kathleen Maguire of Wakefield and Maureen Maguire of Newton, survive him. His brother Michael Maguire of Elko, Nev., predeceased him in 2012.

He leaves behind caring cousins Florence Cronin, Jean MacPherson and John Maguire.

As a teenager Phil became interested in ham radio and obtained his ham radio license soon thereafter. His active interest in radio never diminished over the years and at the time of his death he was active in a local radio enthusiast club.

Phil worked as a quality control test technician at the Raytheon plant in North Andover for many years but had to take administrative leave because of health issues.

The family wishes to thank those individuals and organizations that formed his support group over the last decade.

Per his request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17 at Leary Lawn in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford at 11 a.m. Friends and family invited. Arrangements are by Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading. www.croswellfuneralhome.com.
